The Real Teletubby Secret: What Even
Falwell Hasn't Figured Out Yet By now we all know that Tinky Winky is the gay Teletubby. After all, Jerry Falwell said so. We examine him as we would a Santarian Orisha - what his color represents, what his actions represent, and what his accessories represent. But the real question is, who's the Jewish one? Po. Little red Po is the Jewish one. Her name in Hebrew means "Here". And her color, no mistake, reinforces that we are to interpret "Po" as Hebrew. Red afterall represents the Root or Base Chakra - the chakra that supports centeredness - or more specifically, being present, in other words, "Here" or: "Po". Like another toy, an Israeli dreydl: Nes Gadol Haya Po. A Great Miracle Happened Here - we as Jews hold a special reverence for places in our history. Places where our survival is perpetuated as a result of our commitment to our traditions. Thus, Po is the Jewish one. Her
name celebrates our presence and reminds us that we must do everything
we can to stay present: in prayer, in our lives, and in the world.
Thus, I offer roly-poly Po as a symbol of Jewish continuity and
strength.
